Hi A feature that I would like is as follows: 1) support to access Amazon S3 buckets for ftp 2) Assuming (1) is implemented - ability to transfer files from a server to Amazon S3 directly like fxp Not sure if this is possible but it would be a great feature. I am testing S3 for delivery of large Video files and most current tools upload from your computer and my upload bandwidth is not that great. Thanks Wayne |
11-29-2009, 04:26 AM | #2 | Super Duper | Amazon's S3 service does not provide FTP access. S3 service is based around WebDav protocol, an extension to HTTP. There are command line tools that allow you to upload stuff into S3 buckets, so you can run them directly from the server that has your files. __________________ [Sig removed by Administrator: Signature can not exceed 20GB] |

Obviously it would be a new feature to be written in, thus this is the request. This is why developers do not make good sales people. No, you don't need that. Stop asking. Want more features too bad. Our software is perfect and we will not accept any requests or critical judgements against it. Simply ridiculous. JungleDisk used to be great software which allowed for this but they changed their model to a subscription based service. Rather than a one time $30 fee. I have not looked for a substitute but hopefully there are alternatives. Originally Posted by MxxCon Amazon's S3 service does not provide FTP access. | FTP to Amazon S3 is not possible, it would need to be uploaded directly from your computer. Amazon S3 support will be considered for future releases. |

YOUR reply is simply ridiculous! I'm not a developer and not a sales person. i don't work for flashfxp. I did not say or even implied that he does not need this feed or to stop asking! I simply stated the current situation and since flashfxp does not support it, alternative solutions to his problem! why don't you triple re-read what was asked and what i answered! if you are in a bad mood, keep it off this forum! __________________ [Sig removed by Administrator: Signature can not exceed 20GB] |
05-04-2010, 08:11 AM | #6 | Junior Member | I'd love to see Amazon S3 support. Transmit for Mac OS used to be a very limited FTP client - but has become much more powerful. I need to use similar tools in Windows. |
05-25-2010, 02:18 AM | #7 | Member Location: Portland, Oregon | I came here to comment about Transmit. I do not use Mac but I thought it was cool they came out with it. It is very forward thinking. However paid members or shareware I do not forsee any revolutionary changes coming out with FlashFXP in the future and development pretty much seems dead. No dates are posted (perhaps I missed it) in the version history area. Originally Posted by licensing_2 I'd love to see Amazon S3 support. Development and testing is going on full throttle. Now, you've been using FlashFXP for at least last 6 years, how about you finally buy a license? __________________ [Sig removed by Administrator: Signature can not exceed 20GB] |

- Can You Ftp To S3
- Aws S3 Ftp Access
Select Amazon S3 as a destination. Enter the necessary connection properties. To connect to Amazon S3, provide the credentials for an administrator account or for an IAM user with custom permissions: Set AccessKey to the access key ID. Set SecretKey to the secret access key.
Amazon S3 is an incredibly useful Storage as a Service (SaaS) product, notable for the scalability of its object storage infrastructure which leverages Amazon's global e-commerce network.
- In order to store files uploaded through that SFTP service onto a folder in your Amazon S3 bucket, you need to create a corresponding Amazon S3 network storage object. To do that, go to the Network Storage module and click the Add button. Expand the Protocol drop-down list and select Amazon S3. Click OK to proceed.

What are the best Amazon S3 UI tools?
Unlike more consumer-facing products such as Dropbox or Google Drive, Amazon S3 is aimed squarely at developers who are comfortable accessing their storage space using a command-line interface.
Fortunately for those who prefer to manage their files in a more user-friendly way, there are a variety of tools available which allow you to interact with data stored on Amazon S3 cloud servers using a GUI interface.
5 Best Amazon S3 UI tools: In-depth analysis
Pros
- Freeware (with low-cost premium option)
- A versatile range of features
- Managed back-up subscriptions also available
- Windows and macOS
Cons
- Free users must rely on community support
- No Linux support
Our favorite Amazon S3 interface tool is Cloudberry Explorer, in no small part because in its basic form it is freeware!
Even the free version allows users to back up files locally (as well as to S3 servers), export files and folders to zip files, create bootable USBs, retain unlimited file versions, and more. Alfred email login. There is a maximum file size limit of 5 GB, but the freeware version of Cloudberry Explorer should provide all the functionality needed for those with modest S3 management needs.
If you run a business with more demanding requirements, the Explorer Pro software costs a one-off fee of just $39.99 (with volume license discounts available). Ctrl alt delete function. This raises the maximum file size to 5 TB and adds a load of useful features, such as encryption and compression, multi-threading, FTP support, upload rules, search, and more.
Freeware customers must rely on community support, while Pro customers benefit from direct email support from Cloudberry. The company also offers subscription-based managed backup services which can back up data to your Amazon S3 account.
